| Beschrijving keerzijde | Athena depicted standing to the left in full figure, wearing helmet and long robes, extending a patera in her right hand and holding a spear in her left hand, against which a round shield rests at her side. The composition is characteristic of the standard Athena type widely employed across Lydian civic bronzes of the Severan and Gordian-Philippan periods. The encircling Greek legend names the local magistrate Charidemos and the civic ethnic of the Synaeitae, distributed around the field. The overall style reflects the workmanship of the Sardis conventus workshop. |
