Hadrianotherae was a Mysian city founded by Hadrian — the name translates roughly as "Hadrian's hunting grounds" — established to commemorate imperial hunts conducted in the region during his reign. It remained a minor civic center throughout the imperial period, striking bronze coinage only intermittently. Issues under Philip I are relatively scarce, the city's output never approaching the volume of neighboring Pergamon or Cyzicus.
