The emperor wears a radiate laurel wreath and segmented plate armour with pteryges visible at the shoulder. The surrounding legend reads IMP MAXIMINVS, with a retrograde S noted in the inscription, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |

Within the intercolumniation stands the cult figure of Apollo Smintheus facing right, holding a bow in one hand and a patera in the other, referencing the famous sanctuary of Apollo Smintheus at nearby Chryse in the Troad. The colonial legend COL AVG TRO is disposed around the field, affirming the Augustan colonial status of Alexandria Troas. |
