| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus Thrax facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view employed at Alexandria Troas. The emperor wears a radiate laurel wreath and segmented plate armour with pteryges visible at the shoulder. The surrounding legend reads IMP MAXIMINVS, with a retrograde S noted in the inscription, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |

The colonial legend COL AVG TRO is disposed around the field, affirming the Augustan colonial status of Alexandria Troas. |
