| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, depicted from the rear, with elaborate military pauldron and drapery folds rendered in typical provincial style. The effigy is encircled by a beaded border, and the Imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery. The portrait conveys the emperor's characteristic robust features as known from official Roman provincial coinage of the Severan-Gordian transitional period. |
