Obverse description Youthful laureate and draped bust of Commodus facing right, depicted as co-emperor during the reign of Marcus Aurelius. The portrait exhibits the characteristic early features of the young prince, with a laurel wreath crowning the head. A partial Latin legend runs along the upper and left periphery of the flan, partially visible despite wear. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show a dark green patina consistent with prolonged burial.
