| Reverse description | Youthful Dionysus standing to the left in the field, depicted nude or semi-draped in the god's characteristic epiphanic pose. In his right hand he extends a cantharus downward toward a panther crouching at his feet, while his left hand holds a tall thyrsus upright. The composition reflects standard Dionysiac iconography widely employed on Lydian civic bronzes during the Antonine period. The magistrate's legend ΕΠΙ ϹΤΑ ΑΤΤΑΛΙΑΝοΥ encircles the design, naming the civic official (strategos) Attalianus responsible for the issue. |
