The corinthian helmet is clearly articulated with a prominent crest, and the drapery is visible across the truncation of the bust. The circular legend ΘΕΑ ΡΩΜΗ ('Thea Romē', meaning 'Divine Roma') runs around the periphery of the field. The portrait exhibits the characteristic workmanship of a local Aeolian die-cutter of the Antonine period, with a broad, slightly flat relief. |
