Reverse description Apollo of Grynium standing facing, head turned to left, holding a patera in his extended right hand over a lighted thymiaterium (incense altar) at his feet, and a filleted laurel branch in his left hand. The deity is rendered in the classical Greek tradition befitting his cult at the nearby sanctuary of Grynium in Aeolis. The composition emphasizes the oracular and purificatory aspects of the Gryneion Apollo, a deity of particular regional significance to the city of Myrina.
