Reverse description Depiction of the renowned sacred altar-temple of Elagabal at Emesa, shown as a monumental rectangular base set upon two steps. The structure is ornamented with a projecting cornice and two registers of arched niches flanked by pilasters, each niche housing a cult statue. A small lighted altar surmounts the summit of the monument. A date numeral appears in the exergue, recording the year according to the Seleucid era.
