| Reverse description | Standing figure of Antinous assimilated to the mountain god Tmolus, depicted facing left in a syncretic divine guise. He holds a knotted staff or thyrsus in his right hand and steadies a kalathos (ritual basket or modius) upon his head with his raised left hand. The reverse legend ΤΜΩΛΙΤΩΝ, inscribed in the field, identifies the issuing civic community of Tmolus and reflects the local religious association between Antinous and the eponymous deity of the region. |
