Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed as seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass clearly articulated at the lower truncation. The imperial legend encircles the effigy in Greek characters within a plain border.
