| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back-facing convention employed by certain Asia Minor mints. The emperor's muscled cuirass is rendered with crosshatch detailing, and the laurel wreath crowns his head. The encircling Greek legend occupies the field around the imperial effigy, distributed across both sides of the bust. |
