| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, viewed from the front, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Severan tradition, with the radiate wreath replaced by a laurel crown befitting his rank. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor with his full titulature, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
