| Obverse description | Bare, diademed head of the Roman Senate personified, facing right, with long flowing hair rendered in a classical Hellenistic style. The legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ (Sacred Senate) is disposed around the portrait in the field. The portrait is rendered with individualized facial features consistent with the personification of the Senate as used in provincial Greek coinages of the Severan and Gordian periods. |

| Reverse description | An agonistic crown, inscribed ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΗΑ, rests upon a table with curved legs, flanked on either side by a prize purse. The composition references the Attaleia Gordianeia games celebrated at Aphrodisias under Gordian III. The encircling legend ΑΦΡΟΔΕΙϹΙΕΩΝ ΑΤΤΑΛΗΑ identifies the issuing city and the games, arranged around the central tableau in the field. |
