| Obverse description | Draped bust of the personified Roman Senate (ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ) facing right, the head diademed with curly hair rendered in the Antonine tradition. The portrait presents a mature, idealized male visage with well-defined facial features typical of provincial civic coinage. The Greek legend ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ encircles the bust within a beaded border, identifying the personification as the Senate of Rome. The overall style is characteristic of Carian provincial bronzes struck under Gordian III. |
