| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, portrayed in three-quarter frontal view with paludamentum visible at shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Achaean civic coinage of the mid-third century. The obverse legend in Greek characters arcs around the bust, invoking the emperor's title as Augustus. The strike is somewhat irregular, consistent with the hammered technique employed at provincial mints of this period. |
