| 背面描述 | Tyche of Aphrodisias seated left upon a throne, her body turned three-quarters, holding in her extended right hand the cult statue of Aphrodite Aphrodisiensis and in her left hand a long sceptre. The figure is rendered in a dignified, classicising style characteristic of Carian civic coinage of the Flavian period. The ethnic legend of the issuing city is distributed in the field to the right. |

Aphrodisias occupied a privileged position under the Flavians — the city had cultivated Roman patronage since the late Republic, and its famous letter archive preserves imperial rescripts granting it tax immunity and sanctuary rights. Domitian's reign saw continued investment in the city's monumental sculpture program, and civic bronze coinage of this period reflects a municipality confident in its relationship with Rome. The reference to Aphrodite's city in the ethnic legend on these bronzes was itself a political statement, one the city had been making on its coinage since Augustus.
