| 背面描述 | A tetrastyle or distyle temple depicted in frontal elevation, showing a triangular pediment supported by columns with a cult statue or figure standing within the naos at centre. The architectural rendering is typical of provincial civic coinage celebrating a local sanctuary, likely the temple of a deity venerated at Troezen. The ethnic legend ΤΡοΙΖΗ[ΝΙω]Ν, partially visible along the left field, identifies the issuing city, with the bracketed portion indicating a gap in the surviving legend. |

Troezen, the small Argolid city better known from myth as the birthplace of Theseus, struck remarkably little coinage under Roman rule. Issues attributable to the city are sparse across the entire imperial period, making any surviving bronze from the Commodan years an uncommon encounter. RPC IV.1 #7942 is known from only a handful of specimens, consistent with the limited civic mint activity recorded for this polis in the second century.
