| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus, draped with paludamentum, facing right. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage, with curled hair and a youthful military appearance. The Greek legend ΑΥ ΚΟΜΜΟΔΟϹ runs around the periphery, partially legible due to wear. The overall die work reflects the civic mint tradition of Tium during the later Antonine period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Tium was a minor coastal polis on the Black Sea shore of Bithynia, largely overshadowed by its neighbors Heraclea and Prusias. Its civic bronze output under Commodus is sparse and poorly documented — the fragmentary ethnic in the title, reading only ]?ΤΙΑΝΩΝ, reflects how few examples have survived in legible condition, leaving the full civic legend a matter of ongoing scholarly dispute rather than settled reading.
