| 背面描述 | A bull charging and butting to the right, rendered with vigor in the Alexandrian provincial style, its head lowered and forelegs extended in full attack posture. The regnal year date L Δ (year 4, corresponding to 43-44 AD) appears in the exergue or field below and to the left of the bull. The abbreviated imperial title ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑ is inscribed in the upper field above the animal. The reverse field displays the characteristic green patination of Egyptian provincial bronzes. |

Year four of Claudius's reign — the regnal year marked by the L Δ date — fell as Rome was consolidating control over Britain following the invasion of 43 AD, a campaign Claudius personally attended for a mere sixteen days to claim the triumph. Alexandria continued striking dated bronzes through the prefecture system, its mint one of the few in the empire authorized to produce coinage denominated in local rather than Roman terms, a privilege rooted in the city's exceptional administrative status dating back to Augustus.
