| Beschrijving keerzijde | A hexastyle temple façade depicted in frontal elevation, its six columns supporting an architrave and triangular pediment ornamented with a central pellet. The architectural rendering is characteristic of civic temple types struck at Nicaea in honor of the imperial cult or a local deity. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is disposed around the field. The overall style is consistent with the local Bithynian civic bronze coinage of the Severan period. |
