| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and bound in a diadem, with long tresses falling to the nape of the neck in the characteristic Severan style. The effigy is rendered with fine sculptural detail, the drapery folds visible at the truncation of the bust. The circular Greek legend is disposed around the periphery of the field, reading ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΑ. |

| Reverse description | Athena standing facing with head turned to the left, her right hand extended forward presenting a patera, while her left arm rests upon a tall sceptre. A round shield is depicted at her feet to the lower left. The goddess is rendered in the classical provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the Severan period. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ occupies the field around the reverse type. |
