In her lowered right hand she holds a ship's rudder resting on the ground, symbolizing fortune and governance, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with fruit and grain. The peripheral Greek legend ΑΙΖΑΝΕΙΤΩΝ ('of the Aezanitans') identifies the issuing civic authority. The composition follows the standard provincial iconographic type for Tyche as city goddess of Aezanis. |
