Germe was a minor Mysian city whose civic coinage under Antoninus Pius almost entirely hinges on the magistrate formula visible in the inscription — ΕΠΙ with a named archon being the standard accountability mechanism for provincial bronze in the Pergamene conventus. The magistrate name Φαινος (Phainos) is rare enough in the epigraphic record that this issue represents one of the few attestations of his office.
