Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic broad, mature features associated with Flavian imperial iconography. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, running along the periphery of the flan and addressing the emperor in the dative case on behalf of the city of Nicaea. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the surface showing the patina consistent with heavily circulated bronze provincial coinage.

(Translation: to the Emperor Caesar Augustus Vespasian from the Nicaeans)
Reverse description A panther seated to the left occupies the central field, its right forepaw raised and resting upon a large cantharus (two-handled wine cup) placed before it. The composition is bold and well-centred on the flan, reflecting Dionysiac iconographic traditions common in Bithynian civic coinage. A Greek legend referencing the proconsular authority of Marcus Plancius Varus encircles the design along the outer border. A ground line is visible beneath the panther, and the reverse field, though worn, preserves the principal design elements clearly.
