Reverse description Athena advancing to the right, helmeted and in martial stride, bearing a large round shield on her left arm and brandishing a long spear aloft with her raised right hand. The goddess is depicted in the dynamic, striding posture characteristic of Hellenistic provincial die-engraving. The reverse field is heavily corroded, with the surrounding Greek legend distributed around the periphery and a control letter Δ (delta) visible as a mint or series mark. The overall composition reflects the Thessalian koinon's use of traditional Hellenic divine imagery on its federal coinage.
