| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the Emperor Valerian I facing right, presented frontally from the shoulders, wearing a radiate crown with pronounced spikes. The paludamentum is secured at the right shoulder, and the cuirass is rendered with visible decorative detail. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy along the rim, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The coin shows characteristic provincial die-cutting of the Bithynian workshops of the mid-third century AD. |
