Obverse description Radiate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Trebonianus Gallus facing left, depicted three-quarter face from the front, with the emperor holding a spear over his right shoulder and a shield at his left side. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, reading the emperor's titulature. The radiate crown, indicative of imperial solar associations, is rendered in provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the mid-third century.
