Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek tradition with finely detailed hair beneath the laurel wreath. The bust exhibits paludamentum drapery on the left shoulder. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΝΕΡ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡ, distributed around the periphery of the flan within a beaded border. The portrait is boldly struck with good relief characteristic of early Trajanic provincial issues from Bithynia.
