| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of the emperor Tiberius facing right, rendered in the classical provincial style with fine linear hair detail beneath the laurel wreath. The draped bust is depicted with considerable naturalism. The Greek legend ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟϹ (Sebastos, the Greek equivalent of Augustus) appears in the field, divided to either side of the portrait. A beaded border frames the design. |
