| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Severus Alexander facing left, the emperor portrayed with youthful features consistent with his reign. The effigy shows the paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian civic coinage. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially visible despite the coin's worn surfaces. The strike is irregular, typical of provincial hammered bronzes from this region. |
