| Reverse description | Tyche of the city enthroned left on a decorated basis, wearing a mural crown, holding ears of corn in her extended right hand. At her feet stands a lighted altar. In the exergue, a river god swims left, representing the Balissus (Belikh) river near Carrhae, his body rendered in the conventional reclining aquatic deity type. The Greek colonial civic legend appears in the field, identifying Carrhae as a colony and metropolis of Mesopotamia. |
