Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, the emperor portrayed with youthful features characteristic of his reign. The radiate wreath is rendered with individual leaf points visible despite surface patination. The legend encircles the bust, reading partially around the periphery of the flan. The overall style is consistent with the provincial coinage of the Troas conventus, exhibiting the somewhat schematic workmanship typical of the Alexandrian colonial mint.
