| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of the emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynian civic coinage. The laureate wreath is visible atop the head, with the portrait displaying the bearded features characteristic of Severan imperial iconography. A Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the local engraving tradition of the Nicaean mint, with some weakness of strike consistent with hammered provincial bronze production. |
