Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the typical provincial die-cutting style of the Lydian conventus. The emperor's portrait displays his characteristic short beard and laureate wreath. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible despite the coin's worn surfaces. The overall style is consistent with civic bronze coinage struck at Saitta under Roman provincial administration.
