| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, a presentation typical of provincial coinage of the Severan period. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic bearded portrait with a radiate laurel wreath crowning the head. The surrounding field carries the Latin legend SEVERVS PIVS AVG distributed around the periphery of the flan. The die work, though worn, reflects the provincial engraving style of the Troad region workshops. |
