Reverse description Athena, the civic deity of Ancyra, depicted standing left in full figure, clad in chiton and peplos. She extends her right hand to present an owl, while her left hand rests upon a tall spear; a round shield leans against the spear shaft at her side. A small altar or base is visible at her feet in the lower field. The ethnic legend ΑΓΚΥΡΑΝΩΝ is distributed around the field, enclosed within a beaded border. The coin bears a suspension hole pierced at the top, indicating ancient use as a pendant or amulet.
