Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximus Caesar facing right, depicted from the rear in three-quarter view, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass rendered in relief. The legend encircles the effigy in the outer field, partially retrograde. The portrait exhibits the youthful features characteristic of Maximus's coinage struck during the reign of his father Maximinus I Thrax.
