Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I Thrax facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view, with the radiate crown rendered in bold relief. The paludamentum drapes the left shoulder, and the cuirass is visible beneath. A circular shield or roundel appears in the lower field. The Greek legend encircles the portrait along the rim.

She holds a ship's rudder in her right hand, its base resting on the ground, and a cornucopia in her left arm, symbolising the city's fortune and prosperity. The reverse legend, referencing Nicomedia's double neocorate status, is arranged in the field and along the periphery.
