Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, the portrait rendered in the blunt, powerful style characteristic of provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, with the laurel wreath clearly visible atop the head. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, partially retrograde, reading IMP MAXIMINVS P AVG. The flan is slightly irregular and the surfaces show moderate wear with dark patination.
