Obverse description Bare-headed, bearded bust of Lucius Verus facing right, draped in paludamentum and wearing cuirass, with characteristically curled hair rendered in the Antonine style. The imperial effigy is portrayed with the robust portraiture typical of Bithynian provincial coinage of the mid-second century AD. The Greek legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan.
