Reverse description Hermes advancing to the left, depicted in the conventional divine guise of the messenger god, holding a purse in his outstretched right hand and a caduceus in his left. The figure is rendered in a lively, striding posture consistent with Antonine-period provincial iconography from the Cyzicus conventus. The encircling Greek legend names the archon Claudianus and the city of Poemanenum. The surface carries a dark olive-green patina with areas of encrustation consistent with prolonged burial.
