| Obverse description | Draped bust of the youthful founder-hero Poimes facing right, his portrait assimilated — possibly tentatively — to that of Commodus as Caesar. The bust is rendered in a provincial style characteristic of the Mysian mint at Poemanenum, with softly modelled features befitting the heroised founder tradition. The abbreviated legend ΠΟΙΜΗϹ appears in the field, identifying the figure by name. The flan is irregular, as is typical of provincial bronze coinage of this period and region. |
