Reverse description Athena, helmeted and draped, standing left in a stately pose, extending her right hand to hold a patera and grasping a long spear upright in her left hand. A round shield rests at her feet to the lower left. The civic legend ΚΟΤΙΑΕΩΝ is disposed around the field, identifying the issuing city of Cotiaeum in Phrygia. The rendering is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor under the Severan dynasty.
