| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and segmented cuirass rendered in fine relief. The imperial effigy displays the characteristic Hadrianic beard and layered laurel wreath. The Greek legend runs along the periphery in two segments, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with Alexandrian provincial bronze coinage of the period. |

Year 14 of Hadrian's reign coincided with his extended tour of the eastern provinces, including a prolonged stay in Egypt in 130 AD. The Alexandrian mint ramped up bronze production during this period, partly to supply the logistical demands of the imperial entourage and partly to mark the visit with a surge of locally distinctive coinage. The regnal year dating system used by Alexandria — unique among Roman provincial mints — places this piece precisely within that visit.
