Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, portrayed from a rear three-quarter perspective, a convention characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage of this period. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive short beard and laureate wreath. A Greek legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the typical granular patina of Egyptian bronze issues.
