Year 11 of Hadrian's reign corresponded to a period of intense imperial activity in Egypt — Hadrian visited Alexandria in person around 130 AD, one of the most consequential imperial tours of the province in generations. Alexandrian bronze coinage of this era was dated by regnal year using Greek numerals, making precise attribution straightforward where the date survives legibly.
