The figure is rendered in a classical contrapposto stance typical of eastern provincial bronze coinage of the Hadrianic period. The anchor attribute is a distinctive civic emblem associated with Ancyra and its founding mythology. The encircling Greek legend names the eponymous magistrate and the issuing city. |
