Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, draped with paludamentum over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style, with the laureate wreath clearly distinguishable around the head. A two-part Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, reading ΑΥΤ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ to the left and ΚΤΙϹΤΗϹ to the right, identifying the emperor as 'Hadrian the Founder.' The flan is somewhat irregular, with moderate wear and a dark olive-brown patina characteristic of provincial bronzes from the Peloponnese.

Reverse description Hypermnestra, the Danaid heroine closely associated with Argive mythology, depicted seated to the left upon a rocky outcrop. Her figure is rendered in a draped, flowing garment, and she appears to hold an object in her raised hand, the precise attribute being uncertain due to wear. At her feet rests a hydria (water vessel), a direct allusion to the Danaïd myth in which the daughters of Danaus were condemned to carry water. The ethnic legend ΑΡΓΕΙωΝ ('of the Argives') appears in the field, affirming the civic identity of the issuing authority. The overall style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage struck at Argos during the Hadrianic period.
